At 42° south, far from cities, villages and industrial pollutants, Verlasso found ideal growing conditions that yield the freshest and healthiest salmon.

Verlasso salmon are among the purest found anywhere, its PCB content is ranked among the lowest worldwide of any farmed salmon. Verlasso salmon flourish in these pristine surroundings, seemingly untouched by industry. The deep waters of the farms — 60 to 80 meters — provide natural filtration while the strong currents and abundant supply of fresh water help keep the water clean and Verlasso salmon active, strong and healthy.
The delicious fish we bring to Chefs are harvested from Verlasso’s Capera Island farm found in the 11th region of Chile, amongst the fjords of Patagonia. At approximately 15 months old, each fish was brought to Capera Island farm as a smolt and found a home in one of two deep sea homes. It was raised in both freshwater and seawater. Verlasso Salmon are harvested and shipped on the same day to ensure that the freshest, most delightful taste experience is delivered to you.
Verlasso never uses hormones to grow the fish and always harvest at a smaller size to ensure the health of the population. No preventative antibiotics are ever used and Verlasso salmon have no antibiotics at harvest.
Verlasso’s nets and enclosures contain no copper anti-foulants and we never use organophosphates on our farms, ensuring the least amount of disruption to the environment.
Verlasso is also proud to collaborate with the Monterey Bay Aquarium Seafood Watch® program to support healthy and abundant oceans, it was the first ocean-raised Atlantic salmon rated yellow Good Alternative by the Monterey Bay Aquarium Seafood Watch® program.
By replacing the fish oil and fish meal in the traditional salmon diet with a diet rich in concentrated algae, Verlasso have been able to transition off GMO yeast and continue to meet or exceed a “fish in, fish out” ratio of 1:1.
Verlasso salmon’s diet is a perfect proprietary blend of protein rich ingredients, natural algae, vitamins, and oils rich in Omega-3, ensuring the consistent flavor.
Verlasso salmon has a buttery mouth feel, firm texture and mild flavor that complements any method of cooking or preparation. Verlasso salmon are lower in fat than conventional farmed salmon and offers a brighter taste with no residual fishy flavor on the palate or aroma in the kitchen.
